4M Wireless Reveals Major Advances in LTE Technology at 2010 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

4M Wireless Ltd, the leading LTE protocol stack software provider, shall reveal significant progress in its technology at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona 2010. The company’s exhibit at its stand (1F57, Hall 1) will include a number of live demonstrations highlighting the portability and maturity of its LTE stack. In addition the company’s products will be used in several separate demonstrations at customers and partner stands across the exhibition, revealing the market success of its technology.

Demonstrations on display at the exhibition include:

1) LTE protocol stack integrated with physical layer baseband on a reference platform:

The complete 4M Wireless LTE protocol stack integrated with a third party LTE Layer 1 base­band and RF so­lu­tion on a reference platform will be showcased. The live demonstrations shall consist of the FDD/TD LTE terminal reference platform running multiple live video streams, VoIP and video conferencing applications via a well known eNodeB solution. This end-to-end demo will be fully compliant to the latest 3GPP Release 8 specifications. The demonstration highlights the portability of the 4M Wireless PS100 protocol stack and its readiness for deployment on LTE baseband chipsets.

2) Demonstration of Multi-RAT capabilities of LTE stack and on embedded platform:

Several Multi-RAT cases shall be demonstrated with the stack against a third party eNodeB solution. This shall include idle mode LTE to UTRAN Cell selection, Multi-RAT cell redirection and out of service scenarios. In addition 4M Wireless will demonstrate high through-put scenarios by running multiple High Definition video streams via its complete LTE stack on an ARM based embedded platform. This exhibit shall prove that the 4M Wireless stack meets the diverse requirements of chipset developers.

3) Conformance testing and interoperability with eNodeBs:

4M Wireless shall conduct a live demonstration of its LTE UE terminal stack passing the highest number of conformance test cases in the industry against a renowned eNodeB solution. In addition the 4M Wireless stack will be shown to work against a commercial base station platform. These tests will showcase the high quality of the 4M Wireless solution and its interoperability.
