California Interior Designer, David-Michael Madigan Brings O.C. to Shenzhen

Internationally Acclaimed Interior Designer – David-Michael Madigan Paints China everything but Red.

David- Michael Madigan of David-Michael Design Inc. located in Santa Ana, California, USA is known for his edgy, esoteric Interior Design styling. He embraces the challenge of blending styles and components that are unexpected, yet always retain his that thread of timeless beauty.

DMD, Inc recently returned from their completion of the most anticipated new community installations in Shenzhen, China. The builder is the largest developer in China. A few years back, when the builder’s sales and marketing team traveled to Southern California, they were instantly seduced by the warm Mediterranean styling that they encountered at the Irvine community – “The Sycamores”, Shady Canyon, Ca.

It was then that they sought out “The Sycamores” architectural firm, Bassenian & Lagoni and the interior design firm, David-Michael Design Inc. Bassenian & Lagoni is a highly coveted International architectural firm with offices worldwide. David-Michael and Bassenian & Lagoni have enjoyed a mutual working relationship spanning over 15 years.

The vision was grand – to create a western styled community of timeless beauty and simple elegance in Shenzhen, China. The homes are a classic Italian Tuscan style that envelope visitors and homeowners with a sense of European tradition of family and relaxed sophistication.

David-Michael’s vision was to create two model homes and a centrally located community clubhouse - one home in his signature “European Spa” styling, the other home and the clubhouse would embody his classic “Santa Barbara” style.

The “European Spa” home exemplifies the true balance of peace and tranquility of luxury living at its finest. The color palette is a neutral monochromatic palette with soft accents of Celery, Blush and Aqua that live harmoniously atop the relaxing neutrals of whites, beige and cream. The furnishings are a combination of neo-Classical, Asian and transitional styles. The art throughout the home was hand selected and includes several original hand painted pieces by local Southern California artists.

In the Classic “Santa Barbara” home and the clubhouse, David-Michael wants the visitors to feel the warm, welcoming sun drenched Southern California lifestyle. With a color palette that exudes the brilliant colors found throughout the rolling hills and coastal regions of California, the warmth and charm shines through. Sage, Cobalt Blue, Terracotta, Aged Copper and Goldenrod pay homage to the California Riviera style.

Together with Bassenian & Lagoni, David-Michael Design, Inc. has created a new interpretation of the much sought after Orange County Lifestyle at the homes and clubhouse at “Rancho Santa Fe” in Shenzhen, China.
