Smart Transaction Systems Launches Mobile WebTerminal

Smart Transaction Systems® (STS) a leading provider of prepaid, gift and loyalty card programs, today announced the release of its newest mobile solution, Mobile WebTerminal. Mobile merchants such as delivery drivers and vendors at outdoor events can now accept gift cards using virtually any model of smartphone.

Mobile WebTerminal is a secure web site, designed specifically to be used with any smartphone's web browsing capabilities. It allows a merchant or outdoor vendor to use the web browser on any smartphone to quickly and easily activate or redeem gift and loyalty cards from any location with cellular coverage. Smartphones are mobile phones that offer increased capabilities compared to standard cellular phones, such as web browsing, email, and other familiar PC functions. To process gift card transactions, a mobile merchant, such as a pizza delivery driver or a mall vendor, directs the web browser to the Mobile WebTerminal site. From the site, the merchant enters transaction information, such as the card number and transaction amount to be processed.

"A rapidly growing number of businesses are supplying their employees with smartphones because of their extensive capabilities," said Ray Clopton, President of STS. "Mobile WebTerminal is the latest edition to a comprehensive product line that empowers merchants who previously could not offer gift cards to their customers. Mobile merchants and outdoor events can now launch their own gift card programs using cell phones to obtain card balances and process transactions in real-time.”

For merchants with more basic cell phones, STS offers Text2Transact, a solution that uses cellular text messaging to process gift and loyalty transactions on any cell phone, using any service provider. The product line enables any mobile merchant to reap the benefits of a gift card program without the added expense of additional hardware or POS terminals.

STS bridges the gap between traditional gift card programs and mobile merchants with a comprehensive solution that also includes integrated web, SMS text, POS and interactive voice response systems to allow customers to access the system though any medium. STS offers mobile gift card solutions for everything from one-person outdoor vendors to large pizza chains and major sports venues.

Merchants or resellers who are interested in using STS gift and loyalty programs, or in viewing a demo of Mobile WebTerminal, can obtain more information by contacting STS at 888-494-9760 or visiting SmartTransactions.com.
